I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating: door-knocking can be mentally fatiguing. Because we are sweeping through precincts a second go-round, most of the doors belong to Independent voters.

Art Staed is competing for state representative in House District 66. He has strongly and actively supported technology and scientific enterprises and enhancing the awareness of the need to keep high-tech industry in our state. This assures job creation and retention of qualified scientists and engineers.
I urge the Cedar Rapids community to elect Staed.

Recently, Chris Atchison, director of the State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa and associate dean for UI’s Public Health Practice, related an inspiring story.
An Illinois expectant couple traveled to Iowa. As luck would have it, their baby was born in Iowa. Iowa’s standard screening process discovered a rare condition.
