It’s been fun to reminisce a bit as we begin our second round of knocking on doors.   Driving up to a house, one of us inevitably will say, “Isn’t this where we met Dan, playing soccer with his son?” and “Remember!

This is where Josie lives. Her daughter was just headed out the door- literally – off to college for the first time.” and “This is the street where we happened upon a block party and they had a multi-generational golf game going strong”.   Many friendly faces greeted us, and we look forward to meeting new ones as we trek back to knock on doors where no one was home the first go-’round.

Art earned two more votes today simply because of his “sweat equity”.  Jim and his wife Joyce recalled our stopping by their home last year.  Jim said, “I’m so impressed with your hard work, you’ve got our support.”  Sure feels good when a voter recognizes Art’s efforts!

We also spoke with David, a quiet man who seemed in a hurry for us to move on, until we showed an interest in his gorgeous house plants.  David spelled out the name (Bromeliad), told us where to buy this pretty relative of a pineapple, and gave us some pointers on its care.   Yeh!  I picked up another gardening tip – and Art got more quality time with a voter!

It’s been another great day, speaking and listening with folks.  I’m looking forward to tomorrow!
