Oh, boy.   The beginning of our door-knocking excursion tonight was terrific.  The weather was cooler,  the grass greener, and people were in super spirits and excited about meeting Art.

We strolled hand in hand down a long street, enjoying the peaceful evening and one another’s company.  Until!  I felt a very sharp sting on my upper leg (actually my butt; Art thought I should be more modest in relating this tale).  Thinking I had a bug in my pants (I’m sure I felt it moving around in there), I ran down this now veeerrrry long street back to the car.  Art drove me home lickety-split, where I could tend to what appears to be big mosquito bites.  Medicated and calmer, I jumped back into the ArtStaedMobile and we continued where we’d left off.

Soon, we were visiting with Jeremy, who had come outside to mow his lawn.  Jeremy was all smiles as we discussed the issues pertinent to him….until Art smacked him on the side of his head!  It seems one of the evil mosquitoes was doing its best to attack our new friend, but Art saved the day!  After getting over the shock of being beaned by this guy seeking his vote, I think Jeremy was suitably impressed by Art’s lightning-fast reflexes.
